Ever Evolving

The revolution transformed much of Downtown Cairo. As many foreign communities gradually left the country, the Akaoui Maison pivoted its business concentrating much more on producing its own pieces and curating them from the best craftsmen the market had to offer.

Entering a New Chapter

The story continued with Nagui Akaoui, son of Elias Akaoui, who established the Maison’s workshop, where he began meticulously designing and crafting jewellery of his own. His vision and dedication to craftsmanship elevated Akaoui to new heights.

He later opened the Korba boutique in Heliopolis, introducing a new chapter for the Maison which brought together exceptional pieces sourced from italy together with the hand crafted and meticulously made jewellery created in the Akaoui workshop.

Many of the pieces made and selected by Nagui more than thirty years ago are still worn today—a testament to his eye, his craftsmanship, and the enduring nature of the Maison.

Continuing the Akaoui Story

Today, Nagui’s sons, Mark and Michael Akaoui, carry the house forward, continuing the tradition while bringing their own vision to the Maison.

At the Korba boutique, they continue to push the envelope—blurring the line between the timeless and the contemporary, bringing a fresh perspective to jewellery while remaining rooted in the craftsmanship and values that came before them.

With each generation, Akaoui evolves without losing its identity—taking the house to new heights while keeping its heritage at its heart.
